Everyone Needs A Megan

My best friend, Melody (Happy Birthday to You), has a daughter named Megan. Megan recently turned 18, and graduated from high school. She has begun babysitting for me a few days a week. I have known Megan since she was 3, and I completely trust her which is why I let her care for my sweet babies. Last week Megan came over to keep the kids. She not only managed to feed them some breakfast, and some lunch, and get them dressed, but she also got Nathan to take a nap (not easy), pick up and put away several thousand toys, and she cleaned my kitchen. REALLY cleaned my kitchen. She emptied the dishwasher, and reloaded it. She hand washed the little things like sippy cup lids, and the big pot that cooked dinner the night before. She even organized the dreaded plastic bowl cabinet. You know- the one that always seems disorganized, even though you know you just straightened it all up. Yes, the bowl are stacked neatly, the lids are all together, I could actually find things in there. Then she managed to sweep the floor. I got home and found she had done all of this really hard work, and was thrilled. I had just finished a long day at work and was not looking forward to coming home and cleaning the kitchen. It was the perfect help, and at the perfect time. I know it sucks for Melody that her kid is not so helpful at home. I understand, I never did all the stuff at home that I felt compelled to help with somewhere else. But for that one day Megan was super awesome, and I am glad to know her.

Leighann: There was a bonus in there for Megan. She did in one afternoon what I was dreading all day at work.

Matt: Those plastic bowls seem to have a private party when no one is looking.
